A couple of Favourite receipes
We Call these "Snowflake Cookies" even thought the real name is below.
These are Braedon's Specialty and we like our cookies soft so you need to watch the timer.
We also have a wood burining stove so the temp can get very hot really quickly.
He also adds another 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips and is a little generous with the sugar(maybe another tablespoon or so)
White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
Servings: 36
"These cookies are absolutely the best!! They really should be named disappearing cookies because they won't stay around long. Set your timer, these cookies are best when they are lightly browned."
Ingredients:
225 g butter
220 g light brown sugar
200 g white sugar
2 eggs
10 ml vanilla extract
375 g all-purpose flour
5 g baking powder
5 g baking soda
6 g salt
120 g rolled oats
360 g white chocolate chips
120 g chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease cookie sheets.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the rolled oats, white chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by tablespoons onto the prepared cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

Boardinghouse Pound Cake~
This cake we make in 2 bread loaf tins.
It has a crispy top and yummy very moist center. I am not sure if the crispy topis because of our oen . I have nerver cooked it in a regular oven.
1- 8oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 1/2 cup butter- softened
1 tablespoon vanilla
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
3 cups cake flour
Cream the cream cheese and butter together, add the vanilla. While beating add 2 of the eggs, one cup of sugar, and one cup of the flour. Repeat until all of the eggs, sugar and flour are used. Spray a bundt pan or a 16 x 4 1/2" loaf pan w/ cooking spray. Pour batter into it, without preheating the oven bake at 300 for 2 hours.
