First Sunday in Advent in our Home

As we had such a busy weekend I was not as well organised as I wanted. Suddenly it seemed that Advent was upon us. The focus of the Birthdays tended to take make me think we had oodles of time to prepare for Advent.

So as I wasn't totally prepared, I wanted to have my weekly plans done, we managed to put up most of our decorations we put up in our home.

We have for all the time we have been married made a Christmas Pudding on Stir Up Sunday. However I didn't even have the ingredients for this on hand, so today we will 'stir up with all our might' and start our pudding on it's way.

Here are some of the images of what we manged to get ready yesterday.
The image above is our Advent Spiral. Braedon made this for me last year and Autumn painted Mary on the Donkey. I rolled the beeswax candles to fit into the spiral.
Our Star and Angel countdown. The Angel gradually comes down the star carrying baby Jesus to the bottom of the star on Christmas Day.
This is a close up of the silk Angel. I made her about 4 Christmas's ago and she is a favourite decoration.
Our Liturgical Bookcase with various Advent Themes.
The Jessee Tree with the empty manger to the left awaiting the Baby Jesus on Christmas morning. the basket contains the hand made ornaments made by Eden for the Jesse Tree.
The small nativity scene was also made by Eden out of Sculpy last year. Our special nativity Candle stands nest to it and the stand is ready for the prayer card " We watch, wait and prepare for the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ" the same verse that is on our banner (below)
This side of the bookcase has Father Pine with his Advent vestments on, some beeswax candles wrapped in purple ribbon, our Immaculate Conception Candle is hidden under the star cloth (this is last years one and we may make a new one if we have time). The O Antiphon House stands next to this all ready for the final countdown to the birth of Jesus. The rose in a vase was decoration from Moran.
an overall view of the Advent log and the Advent wreath along with the 'I Believe' decoration below the mantel piece and some miscellaneous items on top. Vellvin embroidered the Faith banner last year also.
Our Original Christmas countdown from when Kynan was a baby. Eden embroidered the other banner last year also.
The first of our Advent Saint Candle collection. This on is for the First Sunday in Advent and is of course an Advent Wreath. This was completed by Rogan.
We intend making a whole line of them, one for each day of Advent for the saint of the day,on the windowsills and light them each night as we say our Novenas.
Our Advent Banner," We watch, wait and prepare for the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ"
This is very hard to photograph as the writing is is shiny pink paint that doesn't show up well.

This is just some of what we managed to do , but all I have time for at the moment.
I pray the start of Advent is a time of anticipation and joy in preparation for the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Blessings,
