Patron Saints for 2010

For a couple of years I have wanted to be involved in this project. However I think I must have had a 'dead link' as I never got a response.

This year in preparation for the Church's New Year, starting with Advent I wanted to organise a a Patron Saints for each of us as well as a family Patron Saint.
This is where I was able to do this.

So for this year, drum roll please......these are the Saints that chose us.

For our family St Jude, yes the saint for Impossible causes. I must admit I was a little taken aback by this. I mean gosh, are we so impossible a case to have things go right for us?
However the link to this post was a revelation to me about St Jude.

This is a part of the above message:

We, for our part, can be grateful to Saint Jude for the question he asked his Master. Our Lord's answer is full of light. "Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, 'Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?'; Jesus answered him, 'Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them'" (Jn 14:21-23).

Thus is the mystery of the indwelling God revealed to the Apostle Jude. What is the mystery of the indwelling God? It is the abiding presence of the Father loving the Son, and of the Son loving the Father in the hearts of those who love Jesus and hold fast to His words. These few verses from the Gospel of Saint John are sufficient to make the Apostle Saint Jude, more than anything else, a patron of the interior life: the life of undivided attention to the words of Jesus, the life of adoring attention to the indwelling Trinity. Imagine what might be the conversations between the Apostle Jude and Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity in heaven.

So I think we all will be trying to dwell on our interior life for this year as well.

These are the personal Saints we have for 2010.

Stephen --St. Anne
Gae -- St. Josemaria Escriva
Kynan -- St. Joseph
Braedon -- St. Joseph of Cupertino
Autumn -- St. Thomas More
Eden -- St. Martha
Saxon -- St. Anthony of Padua
Vellvin -- St. Magdalene of Nagasaki
Rogan -- St. John Bosco
Moran -- St. Peter Chanel
Myffwyn -- St. Nicholas
Corbyn-- St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Arwen-- St. Wenceslaus

What we have done is to print out an image of this Saint along with a prayer for the year. We will frame these and learn all about our Saint and the virtues and what we might be able to emulate from the life and virtues of this saint.

Blessings,
