Stations of the Cross Box

Some years ago we put this together after reading about it I think on the 4real forum. I have a lot of my favourite ideas in folders I have put together over some years. So some of my resources I have not links too.

Stations of the Cross Box ~we have a purple cardboard box that we keep the items in.

Station 1 ~ Jesus is Condemned to Death -- a string to represent the rope used to tie Jesus’ hands

Station 2 ~ Jesus Carries His Cross -- a small cross (toothpicks tied together)

Station 3 ~Jesus Falls the First Time -- We have three band aid's (one for each fall)

Station 4 ~ Jesus Meets His Mother Mary -- a plastic rosary to represent the Blessed Mother

Station 5 ~ Simon Helps Jesus -- small red paper heart to represent Simon’s generous help in carrying the cross.

Station 6 ~ Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus -- Autumn drew a face of Jesus on a piece of calico

Station 7 ~ Jesus Falls the Second Time -- see Station 3

Station 8 ~ Jesus Comforts the Women of Jerusalem -- a tissue for their tears (these had gone missing for the photo)

Station 9 ~ Jesus Falls the Third Time -- see Station 3

Station 10 ~ Jesus is Stripped of His Garments -- a small square of purple felt to represent His purple cloak

Station 11 ~ Jesus is Nailed to the Cross -- a large nail

Station 12 ~ Jesus Dies on the Cross -- a crucifix

Station 13 ~ Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross -- a laminated holy card depicting Michelangelo’s Pieta

Station 14 ~ Jesus is Buried -- a stone to represent the stone rolled in front of the tomb
WE have loved this as a means for the little ones to 'see' the Stations of the Cross.

This is a great printable copy of The Stations of the Cross for home use.

We have also laminated these Stations of the Cross cards from Kathryn at The Bookworm that we have put around the house while praying the Stations of the Cross.

We also have Kathryn's Rosary Cards that we put up on the wall every night to pray the rosary. I find it helps us all to have a visual point of reference as we pray

We are hoping to prepare and outdoor stations this year but have not had much luck with our planning so far, we will have to see.

Blessings,
