Super Easy and Divine Chocolate Cake

As our boys are working outside all day they tend to get very hungry. They take a packed lunch and Morning tea.
Saxon discovered in one of our cake books this very easy, moist and very yummy chocolate cake recipe.

It stays moist all and is very filling. The two boys will eat between 1/2 to 1 per day for morning and afternoon tea.

We have many chocolate cake recipes we use but this one is the best of the lot. We also double the recipe and Saxon knows it off by heart.

Dark Chocolate Desert Cake~

125 grams butter, chopped
1 1/2 cups of caster sugar
( we use regular white)
3 eggs
1 cup of plain flour
1 cup SR flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup water
1 cup milk

Method~
Grease loaf pan or whatever shape you desire
Combine all ingredients in bowl of electric mixer, beat on low speed until ingredients are combines.
Then beat on medium speed until mixture is smooth and changes colour
Pour into prepared pan and bake in a moderately slow oven for about 1 1/4 hours.
Stand 5 mins before turning out----very important as it is a heavy cake--onto wire rack to cool

Add icing if desired. We actually do not ice this. It really doesn't need it.

Another tip I have noticed: if you beat it for longer it is lighter and actually makes more.

But for that mud cake/desert cake texture, that really moist cake it is better not to beat as long.
Our boys and the other children love it as the desert/mud cake style.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we have. Although I wouldn't mind a fruit type cake again -hey guys!

Blessings,
