Love through Speech

I can't remember where I saw this poem below first but it is something I am so aware of each day.
The way I speak to those most special to me at each opportunity during the day is of paramont importance to me.

I know that what I say can often be missed by the way I say it, and that sometimes the more 'needed' rebuke, if spoken with a gentle and loving tone that cares for the realtionship and love of the person involved means that it is much more effective.

It’s not so much what you say
As the manner in which you say it
It’s not so much the language you use
As the tone in which you convey it;
“Come here?” I sharply said,
And the child cowered and wept.
“Come here,” I said-
He looked and smiled
And straight to my lap he crept.
Words may be mild and fair
And the tone may pierce like a dart;
Words may be soft as the summer air
But the tone may break my heart;
For words come from the mind
Grown by study and art
But tone leaps from the inner self
Revealing the state of the heart.
Whether you know it or not,
Whether you are mean or care,
Gentleness, kindness, love and hate,
Envy, anger, are there.
Then, would you quarrels avoid
And peace and love rejoice?
Keep anger not only out of your words-
Keep it out of your voice.

My prayer is to always to remember that ~ Love is a giving of my all and that means putting others first, not only in manner but in the way I present my love to them.
Love is a constant outpuring of my very essence to those I care about most.......how can I not want to do that more perfectly.

Lord help me each and every day to follow my heart in this manner!!

Blessings to you and your homes,

    I actually posted it on Lily-Rose Cottage on April 8th.
    Perhaps, that's where you saw it ?
    It's a good reminder to take care with not only what we say, but the tone of voice we use.
    Hoping you are keeping well, dear lady!
