Fermented Lemonade - nutritious and yummy too!!

We have been enjoying a lovely fermented homemade lemonade lately..
It has a slight fizz and a refreshing lemon taste.

Here is the recipe we use :)
 300ml Lemon Juice
1 Liter sugar
6 Liter water

Put all ingredients including the skins into a lidded bucket and leave for 24-48 hours. (in this batch I used the glass containers for the whole project)
Don't stress if you don't get to it in the first 24 hours
Strain and bottle into bottles or large glass containers.
Leave for a about a week.
Check as the week goes along to check for correct taste.

Blessings to you and your homes,

I have also just started some kefir...not sure how I'm going with it....would love it if you make kefir & if you had the time to explain your way of doing things. also where did you get those lovely glass drink dispensers from..I love them :)

God Bless you & your family Gae,

  3. Dear Sugar Pie,
We love our continuous Kombucha, so easy to do and yes I have had a kefir post planned for ages so will try to do one soon for you. I bought the jars from K-mart just recently.

  4. Oh Gae,
Thank you...I got to town today...a very rare treat....& they had 4 of those bottles left at Kmart, so I got 2 :) :) and I have just added super berry juice to my 1st batch of Kombucha ready to leave for 48 hours...should I burp the bottles at all...does it matter if they are opened in this 48 hr time period? & another friend just gave me a lovely big healthy scobie I hope to get some green tea on Monday....should I keep that scobie on the bench in a jar with the bit of kombucha it's in or should I put it in the fridge 'till Monday ?
Thanks again Gae & God Bless you & yours,
    Robyn

  5. Dear Sugar Pie,
I don't usually burp my bottles but I know other people do. I don't think it matters if you open cause you may need to taste them to see if it is to your taste.
I would leave your scoby in the bit of kombucha liquid it is in but put it in the fridge till you are ready to use it.
    Have a great weekend.
    God Bless

Do you think these drink dispensers are suitable for kombucha ?
