Now I can just insert the appropriate poems and verses into the document each time. But you don't really want to hear this.
Here is what we are using for our Morning Circle Time/ for Autumn at the moment.
It is actually quite long, it takes us about an hour to complete but I am happy with the content and what we are covering in this time together.
Here is what we were doing for Summer. There is some repeating of start and finishing but I like that.
Circle Time Planner ~
Gathering Verse:
Come, little children,
come dance, every one.
Come, little children, and
smile in the sun.
Come now, my friends, to
the circle with me.
Let us join hands in our
circle.
Come, little children,
we’ll dance and we’ll sing.
Come, little children,
your light you will bring.
Come now, my friends, our
day has begun.
Let us join hands in our
circle.'
Opening Verse;
Fire Fairies come to us,
Fire Fairies come to us,
Flames of red and golden.
Fire Fairies warm and
bright,
thank you for your golden
light.
Seasonal Verse:
In the Autumn garden,
Scarlet evening glow
Apples ripening,
brightening, ripening
Brown the acorns grow...Oh
oh, oh oh

Harvest byDorothy Hancock
Now all the farmers from
far and wide
Have gathered their bounty
of countryside:
Corn and barley from field
and wold
Honey from beehive and
wool from the fold,
Fruit from the orchard all
ripe, red and gold,
Log for the fire to keep
out the cold.
Seasonal Song:
1. The Harvest in the Fields-
The harvest in the fields
and on the orchard hang low,
the haze is on the hills
and all the earth is a glow.
On lakes streams and
rivers the geese seem to know
that autumn is upon us,
tomorrow they’ll go.
2. The leaves be greene
The nuts be browne,
They hang soe high
They will not come down

Poetry:
The world is full of
colour!
"Tis Autumn once
again,
And leaves of gold and
crimson
Are lying in the lane.
There are brown and yellow
acorns,
Berries and scarlet haws,
Amber grose and heather
Purple across the moors!
Green apples in the
orchard,
Flushed by a glowing sun;
Mellow pears and brambles,
Where coloured pheasants
run!
Yellow, blue and orange,
Russet, rose and red-
A gaily-coloured pagent-
An Autumn flower bed.
Beauty of light and
shadow,
Glory of wheat and rye,
Colour of shining water
Under a sunset sky!

Two little brownies
dressed in blue,
Let us see what they can
do.
Stand at attention, stand
at ease,
Hands on your hips, and
bend your knees.
Hands on your neck, and
touch your toes,
Slap your sides. And down
you go. SIT
Here's a nest for Robin
Redbreast,
(Cup hands to form nest)
Here's a hive for Busy
Bee,
(Fingertips together to
form hive)
Here's a hole for Jacky
Rabbit,
(Fingertips together to
form hole)
And a house for me.
(Interlock fingers,
knuckles up, for house)

This is the father, kind
and true;
This is the mother who
cares for you;
This is the brother so big
and tall;
This is the sister who
plays with her ball;
This is the baby, pet of
them all.
See the whole family, big
and small.

Woodchoppers-
We are working, working
hard
Chopping firewood in the
yard
Chopping, chopping, chop,
chop, chop!
Merrily the pieces drop!
Hands up high, that is
right,
We must hold the chopper
tight
Chopping, chopping, chop,
chop, chop!
It’s the finest game we
know,
It makes us warm from head
to toe.
Chopping, chopping, chop,
chop, chop!
Now a bundle we will tie
We’ll put it in the shed
to dry
Chopping, chopping, chop,
chop, chop!
Standing in a circle, the
children grasp imaginary axes and “chop” in rhythm. At “bundle,” all stoop to
pick up “heavy” bundle, trudge to center of circle to dump the load of wood.
