Crafting my Life

"All men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life: in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece."
Blessed John Paul II

Isn't this a powerful quote?

I love the idea that I and there for my life can be a most beautiful piece of art.
That my life can reflect the beauty I desire to share everyday.
Perhaps nothing that screams to the world 'look at me' but a beauty that is expressed in the everyday and my sharing that everyday life with those I care for and love.

I can choose to see the beauty around me and reflect upon that as I go about my daily tasks.
I can create beauty with my thoughts, words and actions and thus sharing the crafting I am making in my life with others.

However I need to protect my heart, mind and soul so that the crafting that happens is true beauty and not an imitation of evil that so often passes for a shallow interpretation of beauty these days.

I need to not be deceived by this interpretation of  'beauty' and thus be blinded to the true nature of this 'work of art'. I have to monitor what I choose to make my primary source of input that I then imitate in my life.

Truly it is a constant work that we do as we make our own masterpiece that can only be achieved as we rely on The Author of all that is pure and good and beautiful.
How thankful I am that we need to look no further than this!!

Blessings to you and your homes,
