While visiting around some of my favourite blogs recently I came across this quote (modified) from Marmee in Little Women.
"I want my daughters to be beautiful, accomplished, and good; to be admired, loved, and respected; to have a happy youth; to be well and wisely married (if this is God's will) and to lead useful, pleasant lives with as little care and sorrow to try them as God sees fit to send."~ Mrs. March, Little Women

I am currently woking on a Little Women Study to do with our older Girls.
While I like the one at Serendipity based on Anne of Green Gables, all the girls and I prefer Little Women.
It wasn't untill today when talking to Erin that she suggested that I had taken for my role model when I was younger Marmee form Little women.
I have always loved the close relationship that this family has and the creativity that was evident in these books.
As a younger girl I always wanted to have a School like the one Jo has at Plumbfield and I can see this as my ideal of a Home Schooled setting.
The girls also would like to do Little women as they are a family rather than an only child. The sisters have a bond that continues through out their lives and they all share a lovely relationship with Marmee.
So I hope to be posting on this in the future if any one is interested in joining us in this. While I like the one at Serendipity based on Anne of Green Gables, all the girls and I prefer Little Women.

Hi Gae,
This quote...
March, Little Women
...is such a beautiful quote, and would be what I, too, would like for my daughter.
Blessings,
Jillian

I'd love to see your plans for using Little Women versus Anne. I just read Anne last week for the first time, and it was okay. My daughter and I really like Little Women.
I am hoping to get to these this week.
They will in no way be as detailed as the Serendipity ones, but designed for the way I prefer to teach.
God Bless
What a fitting quote. I love it- and I'm eager to see what you and your girls are up to with Little Women.
Oh this sounds WONDERFUL!
We love Little Women!!!
I look forward to your posts on this!
