When we lived out in Bourke NSW we were very much involved with other christian families. One of them had a large family and was my first introduction to Homeschooling.
Amada shared with me this recipe she used with her large family. At that time we only had 5 children, who were only little at the time. I would make up the dough and divide it up and freeze some and bake the rest.
It freezes very well and you can make more than one batch at a time and freeze with no problem when defrosting.
Amada's Cookies~
500g butter
2 small cups of sugar
1 can of Condensed milk
4 1/2 cups of Self Raising flour
Cream butter and sugar in electric mixer
Add condensed milk- mix again
Add Self Raising Flour
After this you can add any special extras.
We mostly add chocolate chips but have at other times added sultanas, made them into jam drops or put sprinkles on top. To our second batch last week we added M&M's, and even though we don't like nuts in our cookies you can add these as well.
Roll into balls and place on greased tray.
Cook at 350 degree's 10-15 mins
Let cool
Licking the mixture
Arwen sampling the cookies as they cool
The chocolate chip mixture
One plate of chocolate cookies.
They didn't last long!!!!!
