As I am so close to welcoming this little baby of ours into our family circle (with both excitement and a little apprehension about tomorrow), my heart turns to the role of motherhood and how much I am blessed by this vocation.
I draw from so many 'kindred spirits' and love new quotes I find.
I hope you find these couple as inspirational and uplifting as I have♥
”In the midst of washing diapers and meditating on Jesus washing the feet of the disciples, she questioned how this could be God? I am a missionary not a nursemaid. The Lord spoke to her, ‘It is not the business of the servant to decide which work is great, which is small, which is important or unimportant, he is not greater than his master.’ It is the undiscerning that does not consider motherhood spiritual. We know nothing of the love of God if we can’t be found faithful in our call to mother- hood. Jesus said, ‘Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven." ~Amy Carmichael
"Christian motherhood means dedicating your entire life in service of others. It means standing beside your husband, following him, and investing in the lives of children whom you hope will both survive you and surpass you. It means forgoing present satisfaction for eternal rewards. It means investing in the lives of others who may never fully appreciate your sacrifice or comprehend the depth of your love. And it means doing all these things, not because you will receive the praise of man — for you will not — but because God made you to be a woman and a mother, and there is great contentment in that biblical calling." ~Doug Phillips

Beautiful words to remember and be still with.
Keeping you close dear friend during this very joyous occasion.

Thank you for these quotes, Gae. The service continues even after they are grown and leave the home. Sometimes, I think we need more encouragement then!
God bless you,
Anne x
