Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all my mother friends all over the world.
I pray your day brings much love and care from those who honour you in this most wonderful vocation.
“Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is placed in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into its soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her.” J.R, Miller
There seems to be a few 'camps' in regards to how we are told to regard this day of Mothers Day.
Some say that it is too commercialised and they  want no part of it. That it just is a day where too much money is spent, that is all about the buying of affection to make up for other times of no love and attention.
Still others say and the 'camp' which I belong to is we should honour mothers for all they do through out the year.
I mean really in a general sense nearly all mothers devote more than they are ever asked to in regards to their children.
Mothers go without rather than see a child go without, and who else can you rely on to tell your innermost secrets and heartaches too knowing that mother will always do her best to protect, encourage and nurture her child.
A mother loves always and unconditionally even when circumstances make this difficult but still a mothers love is abiding and unfailing.

So why is is we seem to think a day to honour and glorify the vocation of motherhood is simply a boost to the commercial sector and not worthy of praise in it's own right?
Remember that as we allow our children to praise us and give glory to us in the small and varied ways we live our lives as mothers we are privileged to help them understand the honour of servant hood.

Through our daily lives we can show our children how to do this in so many ways and on Mothers Day we allow them the same honour of showing appreciation and love for those gifts of service in a real and tangible way.

These can vary in so many ways as our family circles are all different.
But one thing is for sure we can be thankful for any of the gifts of service our children return for us with a willing and humble heart.

By this they will learn about giving and receiving and the beauty of each gift and then they can go forth and share with others the gifts learnt from the heart of a Mother.

Blessings to you and your homes,
