Night Time Routine ♥

In my learning plans I mentioned that we were starting a new night time routine with getting the little ones: Moran, Corbyn and Myffwyn to bed and asleep without anyone staying with them.

I love how this is working so far and have great success for the future.

This is an except from the routine below:

BED TIME ROUTINE~ From Amy Caroline ( we will try this and see how it goes)
(Older children do Dinner Clean up and own bed time preparations)

After dinner baths and into Pj's
Rosary/ Bible Story/ Family Read Aloud
Mummy do baths and into Pj's
Autumn get snack ready - warm milk with cinnamon and toast with honey.
Teeth and toilet time
Go to Mummy and Daddy's room, candles have been lit and crawl in under covers and read Bedtime bag books.
Special Mummy prayers: the ones I say with them every night and Guardian Angel and own little prayers.
Blow out candles and go to own beds. Here is the snack all ready to eat.
Happy little children all ready to eat.
Candles lit in Mummy and Daddy's room
I LOVE candle light ♥ ♥
Yet more candles!!
All tucked up ready for story time. A fun time for all.
Then off to their own beds without someone "keeping after them!"

This actually allows us to have some free evening time without it being too late.

Hi Gae,
I love your night-time routine, especially the story telling. :D Your children truly are blessed.

We used to have story time until the children grew too old. *sob*

Have a great week,

Isn't it wonderful to have a routine that the children can follow? It is such a source of comfort for them.

My boys, 15 & 12 and my little girl, 10, have had the same routine all of their lives. They are in bed by 9:00pm. Since, we don't have TV, this is not a problem. They wake-up the next morning feeling quite refreshed and ready for the day :)

Thanks for sharing yours.

Oh how I miss story time right before bed. All my children are grown, youngest 16 is a little too old for mom reading him a story, but we do have wonderful conversations right before bed.
Cherish each moment with them now; it is such a blessing.
Thanks for sharing,
